Using Real People as References

FrameAI allows you to upload photographs of real people as reference images for AI video and image generation. This is a core workflow for many professional use cases — brand ambassadors, spokesperson campaigns, product testimonials, and personalised content.

However, the ability to generate video featuring real people comes with responsibilities that rest entirely with you, the user.

Consent Is Your Responsibility

Before uploading a photograph of any identifiable real person as a reference image, you must have that person's informed consent to use their likeness in AI-generated content.

This means:

  • Your own likeness — you may freely use your own photos as references.
  • Public figures — applicable laws regarding right of publicity, personality rights, and fair use vary by jurisdiction. Using a public figure's likeness for commercial purposes generally requires authorisation.
  • Colleagues, friends, and family — obtain their explicit permission before using their photos as AI generation references, even for non-commercial projects.
  • Models and talent — ensure your model release or talent agreement covers AI-generated derivative works. Traditional photo releases may not extend to AI video generation.
  • Minors — parental or guardian consent is required. FrameAI prohibits generating content that sexualises, exploits, or endangers minors in any way.

What FrameAI Does and Does Not Verify

FrameAI does not verify whether you have obtained consent from the individuals depicted in your reference images. The platform does not perform facial recognition, identity matching, or consent auditing.

This means:

  • FrameAI cannot prevent you from uploading someone's photo without their permission.
  • FrameAI cannot be held responsible for misuse of another person's likeness.
  • You bear full legal responsibility for ensuring you have the right to use any reference image you upload.

Prohibited Uses of Real Person References

The following are strictly prohibited regardless of consent status:

  • Non-consensual intimate content — generating sexually explicit, nude, or intimate content using anyone's likeness without their explicit, specific consent for that purpose.
  • Deepfakes and disinformation — creating content designed to deceive viewers into believing a real person said or did something they did not.
  • Harassment and defamation — generating content intended to harass, threaten, bully, or defame an identifiable individual.
  • Impersonation and fraud — using generated content to impersonate someone for financial gain, social engineering, or identity theft.

Violations of these rules will result in immediate account termination and may be reported to law enforcement where applicable.

Best Practices

  1. Get written consent — even a simple email confirmation creates a record that protects both you and the person depicted.
  2. Be specific about AI use — tell the person their likeness will be used in AI-generated video, not just "photography" or "marketing materials."
  3. Respect withdrawal — if someone revokes consent, stop using their reference images and remove any generated content featuring their likeness.
  4. Consider the output — even with consent, avoid generating content that places the person in scenarios they would find objectionable.

Reporting Misuse

If you believe your likeness has been used on FrameAI without your consent, contact us immediately at support@frameai.ai or via WhatsApp. We will investigate and take appropriate action, including removing the content and suspending the responsible account.
